2019 Korea Lift Safety Week Ceremony Ends in Success

 

On November 11, 2019, at the Grand Hall of the aT Center in Seoul, Korea, the “Lift Safety Week Ceremony” was held to further promote elevator safety and propel industry development.

More than 300 people, including government officials as well as representatives of elevator associations and organizations, industries, and civic groups, attended the Ceremony which was hosted by the Ministry of Interior and Safety (MOIS) and organized by the Korea Elevator Safety Agency (KOELSA), to share information on ensuring the safety of elevators and promoting industry development.

JO Sang-Myeong, an official with the Life Safety Policy Bureau of the MOIS, urged inspection agencies, associations and organizations, and industry players “to make greater communication and collaborative efforts to promote elevator safety and facilitate industry development. ”

KIM Young-Kee, President of KOLESA, underlined that “elevator experts need to concentrate efforts to ensure the safety of users and develop the industry.”

Furthermore, a promotional booth was installed in one corner to gear up for International Lift Expo Korea 2020. The previous expo held in 2018 was the most successful of all time, with participation from 162 domestic and foreign companies and operation of 362 booths.  The 2020 Expo is slated to be held for three days from September 23~25 (Wed-Fri) at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
