The number of shopping centres in Turkey is reaching up to 450

Shopping centres wanting to differentiate in increasing competition are now looking for new concepts of entertainment. This increases the number of companies providing private entertainment services for both children and adults.

According to the news published in the Journal of Economist, there is a discussion about the "rent price" in the retail sector currently. We have raised a different topic, but the discussion. Turkey was introduced with the modern shopping centres (AVM) about 30 years ago. Today, there are 412 shopping centres throughout Turkey, and this number is expected to reach up to 450 two years later. And the route of competition in the market of shopping centres, which has already reached a turnover of approximately 130 billion Turkish Liras, has recently started to change. Today, shopping centres that have been changed according to customer needs are becoming centres of entertainment as well as shopping. Shopping centres, where different entertainment areas are located, and the 'street' concept with a lot of café-restaurants is realized, take over.

Tarkan Ander, who is a Member of The Board of JLL Turkey, points out that people don't go to the shopping centres only to shop anymore. Ander says "We've been witnessing the success of the shopping centres which have the arts of stage and performance, entertainment centres for children and adults".
